Thank you for visiting A Promising Beginning!  I look forward to helping you achieve your breastfeeding goals.  I am a Registered Nurse and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with over twelve years of experience.  The first five years of my nursing career were spent on the Neuroscience floor at Boston Children's Hospital.  After leaving Children's, I joined the maternal/pediatric team at VNA Care, where I visited postpartum mothers and pediatric patients in their homes for a variety of reasons.  I am currently employed as a nurse and IBCLC on the mother baby/special care unit at Metrowest Medical Center.
 
I stay up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in lactation through my membership with the United States Lactation Consultant Association, Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition, and Massachusetts Lactation Consultant Association.  I attend several conferences a year to maintain my expertise.
 
In addition to being a nurse and a lactation consultant, I am a proud mother of two incredible boys and the wife of a very supportive husband.  I enjoy spending every moment I can with my family, traveling, practicing mat and aerial yoga, cooking, and attending country music concerts and Broadway shows.
